Host a Gameday Party
Now, if you don’t want to be taken out to the ballpark, there are other ways to root on the Diamondbacks. One of the best is to host a game-day party at your Phoenix apartment. Fans always love a good barbecue and a game on television. Consider inviting friends, co-workers or even neighbors. This is a great way to get yourself established in your new Phoenix home while rooting on the home team. Below are a few tips for hosting a game day party:
1. Menu – Plan your gameday menu ahead of time and have everything prepared when before the game starts so you don’t miss and inning.
2. Weatherproofing – In case of rain, make sure you have a back up plan for preparing your food if you had planned on grilling out.
3. Buffet Set-up – If you have room in your living room where you’ll be viewing the game have the food set up so guests can watch the game while loading their plates.
4. Seating space – Don’t jam pack every single chair or couch you own in the living room to watch the game. You’ve got to have some room to move around. If you’re inviting a lot of guests, set up two rooms for viewing.
5. Clean up – Make sure you have a clean up strategy. Don’t wait until after the game to pick up all the paper plates and cups. Designate trash bins or bags for guests to throw their trash away in throughout the party.
If you’re just settling into your Phoenix apartment, you’ve picked a great time. To enjoy the spring and summer like the locals do, kick back, relax and prepare to root on the Diamondbacks. This hometown team might not have a long history, but it’s already made the record books.
